Project Florence is the team's current primary project and our entry for the 2024 SAC. Florence will compete in the 30,000ft COTS (solid) category and has a test-launch planned for Q2 2024.
Project Deimos was the team's SAC 2023 entry, our first attempt at a 30,000ft rocket, and our first supersonic team rocket. Two identical airframes were manufactured, with one completing a test-launch in Victoria on a smaller motor. The second airframe competed at Spaceport America but unfortunately disentegrated around 3 seconds into flight due to dynamic instability triggered by a faulty motor (Cesaroni N5800).
Project Phobos was the team's first ever competition flight, competiting in the 10,000ft COTS Solid category at Spaceport 2022. The rocket flew sucessfully, however had a malfunction in the recovery system that resulted in a hard landing, damaging some of the fins. The team was awarded the Charles Hoult Award for Modelling and Simulation for the profile optimisation of the nosecone and transition section.
Big Blue was the team's first rocket, designed and built in and around the team's early days during the COVID pandemic. While never competing in a competition, the rocket has seen several successful flights, and serves as a reliable testing ground for new technology, as well as a training resource for new members to get flight experience.

In-house hybrid engine development is an important step in the development and maturation of our team, and this work was started by a sequence of capstones completed in 2021 and 2022. The reports for these can be found linked below.
